Five Great Excuses for Not Blogging

1. I don’t need to blog. If you aren’t blogging, you’re missing out on a huge group of potential customers who look to the internet for information about any business they patronize. Plus, blogging keeps your website content current, boosting its SEO.
2. I’m not a great writer. Have you read some of the blogs out there? My mother, the English teacher, would red ink them into extinction. You don’t need to be Shakespeare or even Danielle Steele to create interesting content.
3. I can’t think of anything to write about. Are you offering new products or services? Discuss the different ways your product can be used. If you’re a community based business, write about what’s happening in the neighborhood. Offer your expert advice about the industry. Write about your personal interests or hobbies.
4. I don’t have time. It’s hard to make the time to sit down and do the deed. One helpful tip is to keep a notebook with you all the time; when you think of a blog topic, jot it down. The next time you have a half hour, open the notebook and pound out the blog.
5. I don’t want to get spam. Most people who respond to your blog are interested in what you have to say. There will be some spam–expect it and delete it. Or you can always block responses.
