8 Reasons Why Clients Don’t Open Your Emails

You spend a great deal of time making sure your marketing emails are well written, full of relevant content and on target. So, why aren’t people reading them? There are a number of reasons why your emails might be ignored. Here are some pointers about how to write emails that get responses.

Subject line mistakes are among the most common. They include

  • Making outrageous claims, e.g. never-to-be-repeated opportunity
  • Overuse of punctuation!!!!!!
    (the previous three are all spam magnets)

Other missteps include

  • One word subject lines
  • False replies, e.g. Re: Your inquiry
  • Using the same subject line in different emails
  • Grammar and spelling mistakes
  • Stating the obvious, e.g. June 2014 newsletter
